Habitat for Humanity of Tulare County booth will feature items from their ReStore, a building materials thrift store. In operation since 2003, the ReStore sells new and gently-used home improvement goods, furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price.
This Year’s display will also feature several hand painted doors as part of our “Opening the Door to Change” art project. Artists from around Tulare County have turned old, used doors from the Visalia ReStore into works of art with their interpretation of Habitat’s “Global Village” celebration. Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live, and our work in Tulare County is a part of that vision. The doors will be on display at various locations around Visalia and will end up at Habitat’s Annual Birdhouse Auction on April 1, 2016 at the Wyndham Visalia. More information about the doors and the Birdhouse Auction can be found on www.hfhtc.org.
The ReStore’s goals are to divert usable building materials and supplies from our local landfills, to make these materials available to the public at reasonable prices and to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity programs in Tulare County. The ReStore is located at 637 S. Lovers Lane in Visalia.
